Reframe Project

At the Tribeca Film Institute, Brian conceived, developed and launched the Reframe Project with over $1-Million in support from the MacArthur Foundation and in partnership with Amazon. Reframe was both an effort to digitize and make available thousands of films that were “stuck on the shelf” and a cutting-edge website (this was 2008) that used curation, social media and expert opinion to help individuals and institutions (schools, film festivals, etc.) to find the best films to watch. Read what the NYT had to say here. The project successfully digitized over 1000 previously “lost” films and while it has been discontinued, it was a model for many future projects, such as IndieCollect, which carries on the mission today (and where Brian was on the founding board of directors).
