Flicklist
Flicklist was a start-up, Venture-capital funded project developed by Brian with industry legend, Ted Hope (now of Amazon Studios). Flicklist was a web-based and mobile app that helped people find the best movies to watch based on the recommendations of people they trust. As we said at the time:
- Flicklist helps you find the best films, based on the opinions of those you trust;
- Flicklist is a universal, platform agnostic social queue;
- Flicklist is a fun way to share lists of films with others;
- Flicklist helps consumers discover, interact with, remember, watch and share films at festivals, in theaters, on-demand, online & anywhere they’re going to be;
- Flicklist is an audience aggregation platform and an interest based social network.
Flicklist launched in public beta in 2012. Perhaps ahead of its time – we sure need curation help now – Flicklist was finally “put to rest” in 2016. They say you learn from failure in entrepreneurship, and that’s certainly true here – I (Brian) learned a lot and apply those lessons to all of my work.
